The Players:
Mary - A waitress. Living like so many of us, day-to-day, resigned to the fact that she'll never experience anything other than the rut. Extraordinary in her ordinariness.
Jonah - Mary's brother. A child musical prodigy before the wave. Now, he's mech, and leader of one of the many gangs which rule the streets.
Dex - One of the first people to go mech. He worked for Palisade as a controller. Now, he recruits and handles "sensitive" situations.
Niko - A street rat. Looks out for numero uno. If you want it, he can get it...for a price.
Ursula, Stran, & Corrine - Members of an underground organization opposed to Palisade.
The Landscape:
Knoxville - At one time, a midsized city nestled in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains. Now, it's surrounded by a wall and people are clawing at the gates to get in...or out.
Oak Ridge - The secret city of the nuclear age is once again shrouded in mystery. This is where Palisade is located.
Brushy Mountain State Penitentiary - Maximum security. Almost escape proof. Closed in 2008. Isolated in the thick, overgrown woodlands of the Cumberland Plateau. Water from an underground creek beneath the prison seeps through the old stones, slowly wearing away the foundation.
