Shadow Arch

Kade is the Ovate in an alternate reality who has found the portal to travel between alternate realities through the Shadow Arch. Unfortunately, his quest is the find the daughter of queen. In his world, the queen has been cursed by their enemies and is now barren. Their protection from the gods is matriarchal, and if a daughter cannot be found, his clan will die.
Year after year, he has journeyed through the arch, so many worlds, and each time he has returned alone. The journeys take their toll, and he makes one last trip through the arch.
Tashia has traveled to Ireland with her father for a family reunion. Her mother passed away from cancer and this is the first time he's been home since her parents ran away to be married. She's hoping to make an appearance in the little pub the family has rented for the evening and then slip away to enjoy the Dublin night life.
A stranger enters the pub, and strange things start happening. Her territorial family all but pushes her and the stranger together to a cozy table in the back of the pub. She refuses to believe in the magic he professes to have, or the fate which brought them together, and doesn't hang around.
Later, she finds him outside her hotel room, ill and unable to return home.
